TREATS! Q & A: DAVID BELLEMERE

David, how are you doing? Where are you?
Good, I’m in Paris, then going to Milan, North Africa, Corsica…etc.

You’ve become a favorite photographer here at TREATS! What’s your secret in taking such sensual and classy photographs?
Oh, really, merci! Really nice to hear; we all have different styles, different stories to tell. I just choose the things I like, cause the act of photography is pleasure. Sometimes I forget who I am seeing; I forgot about myself when I am shooting. I could do the same pictures one-thousand times without getting bored.

What photographers inspired you growing up?
All the 70′s 80′s guys: Avedon, Newton, Bourdin, Kishin Shinoyama.

How would you define your own style?
I do not know, hard to tell, my style is…mine….

What do you look for when casting models?
I am looking for someone who likes photography, who has got an artistic soul and an attractive body.

You shot TREATS! issue #2 cover girl, LouLou, who now is an international fashion muse. Is it true that was her first shoot ever?
Yes. It was her very first editorial, very first nude. Inez and Vinoodh saw her on the cover of TREATS! and she is now exclusive with them. I am really happy for her; she deserves it.

Where did you find her? How did the shoot come about?
She was presented to me by her agency. Then I thought she would be the right girl; she’s a really bright person, she has got everything I am looking for in a model. We left the next weekend with my friend and his wife to their house in Vichy for the shoot.

What are you currently working on?
I am preparing a shoot for the next issue.

Any plans for a book?
Yes. Been working on it but it takes so long.

Finally, have you cast your next model for TREATS! # 4?
Soon! Very soon.
